BlckWyvere

Original Concept: It feels like a mix between Overland Offensive and Tournament Tundra.
10/20

Balance: Everything's symmetrical. Base areas are exactly alike.
13/15

Eye Candy: This map definetly won't take a crown for texturing or an amazing landspace. The cheering crowd in the "stands" does add to the atmosphere and of what I assume is supposed to represent some sort of stadium.
13/30

Fun Factor: SUrprisingly, it's not half bad. Supplies aren't over-abundant, and there's some elements of strategy to be used here.
16/20

Scripts/AI: The AI has a fit because it can't capture the Oil Derricks and the whole game bogs down. No scripts that I could see.

stadium themed.
geomertic, but it fits the arena style.
texturing is mostly solid graphics, could have been a little more creative.
well executed idea.
terrain is very well sculpted into the geometry, nice and precise.
could use more detailing that fits the theme still.
AI: ok setup, didn't play especially well.
Some pathfinding problems through narrow choke points.

Hexetic

Concept: 18/20
Clever concept. Reminds me of the classic Total Annihilation map "MicroTAMachines", where players are literally on a big board game board, complete with cards, coca-cola cans, and everything. The crowds are fun but the constant cheering from one direction (due to the directional nature of the sound) is somewhat annoying in the end.
Balance: 10/15
Ridiculously unbalanced against the GLA, who have no way to knock down the fence surrounding the oil derricks. Why is that fence even there?
Eyecandy: 24/30
Looks nice but the use of the China Wall for the people to be on is a little strange. The "Stadium" pieces would've been better, but of course you can't put people on those... unless you mod the map.
Fun Factor: 14/20
It looks like it would be fun to play. The capturables seem to be well-laid-out and the base areas have lots of ways in. If only I could play the map against AIs...
A.I.: 0/10
The fences around the oil derricks cause massive and completely unavoidable AI pathfinding slowdowns within two minutes of starting the game. If you can handle the game freezing for a half-a-second every two seconds, then by all means keep playing. Those of us who are sane will either edit the stupid fences out or switch to another map.
Scripts: 0/5
No scripts to speak of.

Overall: 66/100

Remove the stupid chain-link fencing around the oil derricks and you have a nice, solid A-class map. As it is, it seems like the map-maker deliberately put the fencing there to fuck you up in case you tried to play it against AIs. The AI scripting and polygons are there. Do people not test their own maps anymore?

A fun, well thought out layout. The cheering crowds was a nice touch. A few more textures would have gone a long way to break up the repetitiveness of some textures. However, it looks like care was put into this map. This map would be great for online play, however a few more details would have brought this map to the next level. A good map.
